Waste Sorting Activity for New Employee Training
To support a department’s transition from in-person onboarding to a self-paced eLearning module, I developed an interactive course using Articulate Rise. A key focus of the course was highlighting the department’s commitment to sustainability. In the previous in-person sessions, a guest speaker demonstrated how to properly sort waste on campus and led new employees through sorting activity.
To retain this engaging element in the online version, I designed an interactive sorting activity using Articulate Storyline. I also used Google Slides to create custom visuals, such as the dumpster, to make the activity more visually appealing and immersive. Additionally, I sourced royalty-free sound effects and songs from SoundBible and Incompetech. When interacting with the game, the learner is provided with immediate feedback to increase engagement and content mastery. Additionally, the learner is provided with campus resources for further exploration.
Tools Used: Articulate 360 Storyline and Google Slides
